Welcome image. Sunday service

Join us

At the present time our membership consists of over 30 people, with quite a wide age range. We also see quite a number of regular visitors at our services, especially on a Sunday morning. Our Sunday morning worship is attended by up to 40 adults at present, though we hope that more people will join us in time.

The following information is adapted and abridged from the church's Constitution:

Church Membership

Covenant of Membership

  1. Being redeemed by the grace of God, we acknowledge our allegiance to the Lord Jesus Christ as the head of His Church and give ourselves to one another, being members of ONE BODY, sharing each other’s joys and sorrows
  2. Although we are interested in many aspects of the Lord’s work, we consider our own church has first claim upon us in obedience to Christ. We will endeavour to use our talents to God’s glory and encourage others to do the same.
  3. If anything in the church fellowship gives us concern we will discuss such matters with the Pastor(s), Elders and Deacons in order to find a solution according to God’s will.
  4. We will seek regularly to attend both Sunday services, prayer meetings and church business meetings unless duty or illness prevents us.
  5. As the Lord prospers us financially we will gladly contribute to our church needs and missionary funds, remembering that Christ also loved the Church and gave Himself for it.

Eligibility

The qualifications for membership are:

  1. Profession of repentance toward God, and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
  2. Evidence of genuineness of this profession.
  3. Baptism by immersion, following repentance and faith.
  4. Willing submission to the teaching and government of the church.

Procedure

Those who desire to become church members should inform the Pastor, or one of the Elders or Deacons.

The Ordinances

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the only two ordinances. Baptism by immersion is to be administered to believers who are preparing to become members of the church, or some other gospel church.

The Lord’s Supper is celebrated regularly. Those eligible to commune at the Lord’s Table are members of the church who are leading a consistent Christian life, together with visitors who are baptised believers. People desiring regularly to receive the Lord’s Supper are encouraged to seek membership of the church.
